  Yoder, Kansas:  Yoder offers a rare opportunity to visit another lifestyle reminiscent of the past, an authentic Amish community.  In 1906, the town  was plotted as a central point for surrounding Amish communities.  It remains that way today even with the emergence of new business that has allowed the small community to prosper and invite visitors to take a step back in time.

Dillon Nature Center:  Located on 100 acres in northeast Hutchinson, this National Urban Wildlife Sanctuary showcases both plant and wildlife.

Along the National Recreation Trail  visitors will find hundreds of species of trees, shrubs and wildflowers, that create a wild arboretum.  Flower gardens attract hummingbirds, butterflies and photographers.

  Kansas Splashdown  (Indoor Water Park) This exciting space-themed indoor waterpark is part of the Grand Prairie Hotel complex. The spacious new facility provides an over-sized moon crater waterfall hot tub, a tube slide and body slide, and more.

Salt City Splash Aquatic CenterSalt City Splash Aquatic Center offers four pools, a picnic area, dressing rooms, lockers, concessions and lots of shaded areas.

The Tiny Tot Pool (for ages 7 and under) is a nine-inch deep wading pool. The Splash Pool is a zero-depth-entry to three-foot deep pool that features a variety of interactive water fixtures. The Plunge Pool features two water slides. The 50-Meter lap pool is the largest pool and offers eight lanes for competitive swim meets. It also offers basketball goals, springboard diving and a drop slide.

  Kansas Underground Salt Museum:   Hutchinson is the only city in North America with a museum 650 feet below ground at the Kansas Underground Salt Museum.  The museum exhibits include the history of salt mining; the use of the salt mine for secure storage of documents and original television and big screen film; and the transportation of salt, among others.  A special Exhibits Gallery accommodates temporary changing exhibits as well.

  Hutchinson Zoo:  The Hutchinson Zoo features wild habitat exhibits with naturalistic settings.  River otter, pronghorn, bison, coyote, ringtail, bobcat, reptiles, porcupine, golden eagles, and native birds are but a few of the animals.   20 Minutes
      Quivira Wildlife Refuge: Bird watching and wildlife viewing opportunities abound at Quivira.   Quivira has two large salt marshes, and both are excellent places to look for birds such as mallards, wood ducks, pintails, white pelicans, shorebirds and more.

Cheyenne Bottoms:  A visit to Cheyenne Bottoms can be interesting any time of the year. As long as there is water in the marshes, many birds can be seen at the Bottoms.

  Kansas State Fair:  For 10 days each September, Hutchinson is home to the largest event in Kansas - the Kansas State Fair, where visitors will find good old-fashioned fun. The Fair features over 280-acres of the best of Kansas' agriculture, livestock and commerce, as well as live entertainment.
